About the Owner:
Susan Siegel has dedicated her life to starting up and scaling up businesses that make a difference both here in Brooklyn and around the world. Her strength is in filling niches that add value to communities.
A passionate leader with strong ties to the Ditmas neighborhood, Siegel formerly served as Executive Director of Flatbush Development Corporation, where she oversaw the Cortelyou Rd. street scape improvement project, and spearheaded the Cortelyou Farmers Market, Newkirk Medical Plaza Art Gallery and the Flatbush CommUNITY garden.
Over the past 25 years she has been Founder and Co-Executive Director of Global Action Project, an award winning youth media organization, as well as Development Director, and/or Strategy Consultant for: United States Institute for Peace, Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity, Seeds of Peace, United States State Department Cultural Specialist Division, Facing History and Ourselves, and George Jackson Academy (to name a few).
Brooklyn ARTery brings Siegel full circle from her first niche-filling project. At age 26 she founded and built CAHPA, an artisan center for the physically handicapped in Ivory Coast, West Africa.
